Mixed Business

Another break from the 30 for 30 for an Everybody, Everywhere challenge!

So this challenge is all about mixed patterns.  And you know what I realized???  I don’t really have a lot of prints in my closet!  Colors everywhere…brights, pastels, muted shades…but very little print and patterns.  I’m going to have to work on changing that.

This outfit is definitely inspired by the lovely Beth Jones.  That lady makes mixing prints and patterns look so easy!  I’m constantly in awe of her sartorial abilities.

I decided to add the silk button up to provide the outfit was a little structure…and to make it more business-like, since I’m damn near wearing pajamas to work.  The neutral also tones down the floral and the….I don’t really know what the print on the pants is…ikat almost.

This was a little outside the box for me…both with the pattern mixing and the silhouette of the look.  Guess that’s why it’s called a challenge.
